FAA (formerly NOS) Notices & Changes
The AC&C (Aeronautical Charting & Cartography) office became NACO (National Aeronautical
Charting Office) and was transferred from NOS (National Ocean Service) to the FAA (Federal Aviation
Administration) effective October 1, 2000.
This change is not expected to produce any significant differences in the production and distribution of aeronautical
charts.
Price Changes effective Oct 1, 2000 were selective, from nil to 6.25%! ConUS Sectional and WAC charts increased from $7.50 to $8.00. Terminal Area Charts and TPPs went from $4.15 to $4.25. Enroutes stayed $4.10 and A/FDs increased from $4.10 to $4.20. Alaska Sectionals jumped from $4.40 to $4.75. The AK-TPP remained $5.35 and Supplement Alaska went from $4.90 to $5.00. Canada Notices & Changes
Effective 6/1/99 or 4/1/00 Geomatics Canada all VFR chart prices increased 5% to 15.00 ea; Designated Airspace Handbook is now $44 ea or $88/yr; Canada Flight Supplement now $27 ea or $96/yr; Water Aerodrome Supplement now $40 ea. Canada Air Pilot [TPP charts] $18 ea. Enroute charts remain at $5.50 ea. Geomatics International Handling Charge now $25/order. They really want you to buy from Dealers or Distributors! Note - APS bills Canadian charts at these prices in US $ to absorb Canadian S&H and non-returnable charts, but is able to offer higher than usual discounts at current exchange rates.

NIMA Notices & Changes -
Effective July 12, 2001 the U.S. High Altitude IAPs, or "FLIPs", will be reduced to 3 volumes by consolidating the Northeast and Soueast volumes into one East publication.
A new Change Notice will be issued at the 4-week midpoint of the 8-week cycle for these FLIPs. The first Change
Notice will appear effective September 6, 2001.
An Unscheduled Revision for Baltimore-Washington Terminal Area Chart (TAC) was distributed be FAA on Aug 22, 2002. This chart depicts additional airspace areas in a Special Flight Rules Area around the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area (SFAR 94); and a 5nm radius TFR around 39 deg 38' 53"N, 77 deg 28' 0"W (aval Support Facility). This new chart is a reprint of the 65th edition which became current 8/8/02.; and is most readily distinguishable from it by a large blue dot above the the blue "65TH EDITION" on the chart "cover" (when folded). The 2-week old chart without the blue dot should be destroyed immediately and replaced by the "blue dot special".
